Amnesty International Amnesty is “working to protect human rights worldwide”. Excellent site with a lot of information.
British Helsinki Human Rights Group Informative reports from elections in mainly Central and Eastern Europe.
Human Rights Watch NGO who “investigate and expose human rights violations and hold abusers accountable”. Very informative.
Statewatch They are “monitoring the state and civil liberties in the European Union”. Probably one of the best sites on the EU and civil liberties.
CIVITAS CIVITAS provide plenty of info, publications and arrange school debates on the EU

Centre for European Reform London-based think tank which provides a lot to read on a wide range of subjects. Gives mostly a balanced view.
European Foundation Present themselves as a EU-critical think tank”. Publishes The European Journal, one of the best EU-critical journals.
Initiative and Referendum Institute, Europe This institute, based in Amsterdam, is “building a broadly based competence center for direct democracy”. A must for anyone who thinks that the people should have a say on EU-issues as well as other issues.
One world Think tank focusing on the priorities and directions of EU’s development aid. Both a research and a NGO perspective.
The Centre for European Policy Studie/ Brussels-based think tank which want to give “constructive solutions on Europe’s challenges”. Informative.
The European Policy Centre Wants to be “an interface between government, business and civil society”. Informative and interesting, but look for the EU-critical perspective elsewhere.
The Federal Trust This Britain-based think tank “explores federal solutions to issues of governance at national, continental and global level”. But they present both sides of the debate on the future of Europe.
